'The Great Summer Exhibition 2013', Cardiff Bay

Article text
The Butetown History and Art's Centre, Cardiff Bay supported by The Arts Council of Wales, exhibited these images when I was chosen to represent S.W. Wales as one of 40 'Established, Emerging or Unknown Artist's of Wales Today'.

Established in 1973, by Geru Sri Subramanium, Skanda Vale monastery near Llanpumsaint in West Wales lies in a secluded valley of 300 acres of woodland and pasture.

The Brothers and Sisters have taken the Franciscan monastic vows of poverty, chastity and obedience and dedicate their lives to loving and serving God.

But they also care for their temple elephant Valli, a gift from an elephant orphanage in Sri Lanka, India and flown to England as a baby and is now 32 years old.
This set of images document her personal care with Brother Steffan.
